Overview
Makhana, also known as fox nuts or lotus seeds, is a naturally gluten-free superfood harvested from the ponds of Bihar's Mithilanchal and Champaran belt. Giri Noora sources directly from this region and processes every lot to a single standard — clean, uniformly popped, and free of grit, husk and broken seed.
Each batch is hand-sorted after popping, machine-graded by size, and moisture-checked before packing. The result is a consistent product that holds its crunch through a 12-month shelf life and behaves predictably in roasting, seasoning and retail packing lines.
Naturally rich in protein and calcium, low in fat, and low on the glycaemic index, makhana suits healthy snacking, fasting and festive demand, weight-management diets, and value-added manufacturing alike.
